Location
Situated north of the N7 and the A8 motorway, halfway between the Gorges du Verdon and the Mediterranean, Lorgues is nestled at the bottom of a valley, surrounded by steep hills with hamlets and chapels. Lorgues is a small fortified town which has managed to preserve many of its original features as well as a maze of medieval streets. The town has also a longstanding tradition of wine making and its famous wines are exported all over the world.

PLACES TO VISIT:
Entrecasteaux. 12 km. Pretty and unspoilt village with medieval streets and typical pastel painted houses. The village is overlooked by its chateau.
Flayosc. 15 km. Pretty town with typical Provencal streets and great views from the church out across the vineyards.
Salernes. 15 km. Medieval town built around its castle, in a picturesque setting in the valley of the Bresque river. Best known for its tradition of tile making, especially for the trademark terracotta hexagonal floor tiles of Provence.
Tourtour. 15 km. Also called the village in the sky. A beautiful medieval hilltop village with plenty of narrow streets lined with very picturesque Provencal houses dominating a vast area of Provence, from Fréjus and the Mediterranean sea to the east to Cezanne’s Ste Victoire mountain to the west.

Provence Aventure, Vidauban. 15 km. Tree top adventure park. A beautiful setting, in the heart of an oak forest, on the banks of the Argens River. Different trails for the whole family (from the age of 3) according to ages and abilities including for the fearless ones a 200m-long zip line crossing the Argens river. A refreshing experience!
Le Jardin de César et Léonie, Le Muy. 25 km. Horse riding, Tree top adventure park. For great thrills in all security, up to 12m in height. Different trails for all abilities and ages and a lovely way to discover the forest. Also pony and horse rides available. At Les Folies de Léonie, there is free access to a giant playground under parents’ supervision.
St Endréol Golf club, La Motte. 30 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 6219m. In a stunning, sun-drenched natural setting, a spectacular and internationally renowned course offering splendid views over the river Endre.
Aqualand, Fréjus. 40 km. Waterpark. Fantastic waterpark with a great number of water rides for the whole family, including the largest wave pool in Europe and the huge Twin-Twister water slide. Not for the faint hearted!

Aups. 20 km. Pretty Provencal hill top village overlooked by the remains of its medieval castle. Its weekly markets are famous including its winter truffle markets.
Fréjus. 40 km. Seaside resort, ancient military port and Roman city, with a rich and impressive historical and architectural heritage. Some stunning scattered Roman remains can still be seen including one of the largest amphitheatres from Gallic times and a Roman theatre still in use for summer events.
St Raphaël. 45 km. Family seaside resort and major sailing centre backed by the rugged Massif de l`Estérel. The resort also boasts 5 golf courses and a casino and is ideal for deep-sea diving and coastal walks. Boat trips to the Îles d`Hyères.
Seillans. 45 km. Delightful hill top village and one of the most beautiful villages in France. Its medieval centre with a maze of narrow cobbled streets, shaded squares and ancient fountains overlooks a wonderful countryside. The village also boasts a castle and lovely church. Home to many artists.
